This Refund Policy applies to digital products, software licenses, downloads, plugins, tools, updates, platform add-ons, transfer credits, and related services provided by Grain Shift Audio.
Grain Shift Audio is a New Zealand business registered with NZBN 9429053794673.
1. Payments are processed by FastSpring
Purchases are processed by FastSpring, acting as Merchant of Record for the payment transaction. FastSpring may appear on your receipt, invoice, bank statement, card statement, or payment confirmation.
FastSpring may handle checkout, payment processing, taxes, invoicing, fraud prevention, payment disputes, and payment-related transaction terms.
Grain Shift Audio provides the software products, licenses, downloads, account access, activation services, and product support.
2. Free testing before purchase
Grain Shift Audio products may provide a free trial, demo mode, test mode, unlicensed mode, or other way to evaluate or learn the product before purchasing a publishing, development, deployment, platform, seat, transfer, or commercial license.
Customers are encouraged to test the product in their intended workflow before purchasing a license.
3. No change-of-mind refunds
Because Grain Shift Audio products are digital software products and may be tested before purchase, we do not provide refunds simply because you have changed your mind, no longer need the product, purchased the wrong license, did not test the product before purchase, changed release plans, or decided not to publish a project.
This does not limit any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws.
4. Faults and required legal remedies
If a product is faulty, not as described, or does not meet a guarantee, warranty, or right that cannot legally be excluded, Grain Shift Audio will provide the remedy required by applicable law.
Depending on the situation, this may include support, repair, replacement, license correction, transfer correction, account correction, or a refund.
Before a refund is considered, we may ask for reasonable information to help diagnose the issue, such as:
the product name;
the license tier and platform;
your operating system;
relevant middleware or game-audio workflow details;
relevant error messages;
steps to reproduce the problem; and
confirmation that the product has been installed and used according to the documentation.
5. License, platform, seat, and transfer purchases
Grain Shift Audio purchases may enable development, publishing, deployment, platform support, seats, activations, transfers, transfer credits, business membership features, or other license rights.
Except where required by law, purchases are not refundable once issued merely because:
a project is cancelled;
a release platform changes;
you no longer need the product, license, add-on, seat, transfer, or transfer credit;
the wrong license tier, platform, business, or account was selected;
your middleware, game engine, console access, account status, team, funding, or publishing plans change; or
you decide not to use the product after purchase.
If you believe you purchased the wrong item by mistake, contact support@grainshiftaudio.com. Grain Shift Audio may, at its discretion, help correct the license, apply a credit, or suggest the appropriate option, but is not required to provide a refund unless required by law.
6. How to request help or a refund
To request support or a refund review, email support@grainshiftaudio.com.
Please include your order email address, FastSpring order reference if available, product name, license type, and a description of the issue.
If a refund is approved, it will normally be processed through FastSpring to the original payment method where possible. Some payment methods, disputes, fraud reviews, chargebacks, older orders, or payment-provider rules may require FastSpring support to process or review the refund.
7. Nothing limits mandatory rights
Nothing in this Refund Policy excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer rights, statutory guarantees, refund rights, or other legal rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted, or modified.
Where you are purchasing for business or commercial use, some consumer guarantees may not apply or may be excluded to the maximum extent permitted by law.
